The Sons were formed at the turn of the millennium in Denver, Colorado. Composed of some of the most unique musicians in Denver, the Sons have become known for their quirky blend of electronica and improvisational jazz. What you hear on the CD is what you get live. Odd ambient samples, circuit-bent children's toys, theremins, melodica and traditional instruments combine to produce their genre bending sound they call "post-apocalyptic electro jazz.Hybrid Magazine described it like this:
What Miles would sound like if he'd lived long enough to come to his senses.
This is jazz for the new millennium. Don't be late for Armageddon.
As one of two of the founding members of the Sons, the doc is the elder statesman of the group. Along with Tim, he provides the production wizardry to make this Armageddon happen. The Doc cut his musical teeth on the skate-punk scene in the Bay Area in the early 80's. He has lived in Nashville, Los Angeles, San Francisco and now Denver. He's played in almost every type of band known to man: punk, industrial, rock, goth, funk, latin, acid-jazz and electronica. He's originally a drummer but now does his thing with laptops, circuit bent children's toys and turntables. The doc runs his own studio and is known for his production and sound design skills. You'll see the doc at the shows surrounded by a mountain of electronics. He's also the one to talk to regarding the booking of the Sons.
An original and founding member of the Sons, Tim has been playing bass and writing music since age 14. Cameron has exceptional proficiencies in tying his shoes. As a matter of fact, he has been performing this daily task since he was three or maybe four years old. Recently he has become so good at it that he no longer has to think in detail about the incredible loops, tucks, and ties that are an inherent part of the shoe-tying process. Not only has Cameron become so experienced in the art of shoe putting-on, he also has performed and recorded with many different musical ensembles including the world-renowned reggae artist, Eek-A-Mouse. He is currently performing and recording with a group that fancies themselves with the name "Sons 'O' Armageddon". He is currently pursuing his MBA in Eradication from the University of Colorado and has completed his Undergraduate degree in Jazz/Commercial Music from the University of Denver. He is currently awesome.
Dav is a really great musician and an incredibly nice person. He has a wife, a son and a day job. He is the visionary songwriter behind Fancy Dolittle. He comes highly recommended by me and would probably rather write his own bio in the future.
